Brissa Nova lets directors and designers place lights, props, cameras, and mannequins into a real space with AR, then walk the whole setup in VR before physical assembly. Grouping, undo and redo, pinch scaling, and magnetic anchoring, on Android. In use on real set builds.
How we built an app that lets you design and preview your next production without setting up anything physical.
Any photographer or director of photography knows that studio pre-production is both expensive and time-consuming. Deciding on light placement, shadow types, camera positions, and scene elements typically requires a loop of setting up, testing, tearing down, and starting over. Every test costs time and resources.
Brissa Nova came to us with a definitive question: What if you could design an entire studio set right from your phone before handling any equipment?

We developed a mixed reality mobile app that simulates complete, professional lighting setups in AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) directly from an Android device.
Users can place lights with customizable shadow and reflector settings, props, cameras, and mannequins into their real environment using their phone's camera, or seamlessly switch to a fully simulated virtual environment. Both modes live inside the same app, and the transition between them is seamless.

Beyond the visual experience, what makes this app truly valuable for real production is the robust control system built under the hood:
The app is in use on real set builds.
If you have a workflow that relies on costly physical testing or taking blind leaps during planning, interactive technology can completely change how you work.
